Shakespeare

You never forget your first experience of Shakespeare, which is why it’s so important we get it right for our primary students, introducing them to Shakespeare in a way that makes it instantly accessible and fun.

Primary Workshops (KS 1&2)

Our workshops are led by professional actors with experience at some of the leading theatre companies in the country, including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s Globe and the National Theatre. We are passionate about sharing our love and knowledge of Shakespeare with young people.

Using exercises and techniques that we as actors use in the rehearsal room, students experience first hand how Shakespeare’s work is brought to life through the active performance of it.

There’s no greater privilege than seeing children of all ages, backgrounds and abilities leaving our workshops buzzing with a sense of achievement at connecting to and understanding his plays.

Our Shakespeare workshops enable students to:

  • Create imagined worlds
  • Speak Shakespeare’s words with confidence
  • Actively respond to storytelling
  • Work as an ensemble

Current Primary Workshops:

  • A Midsummer Night’s Dream – Rascals & Runaways
  • Macbeth – Witches & Warriors
  • Romeo & Juliet – Montagues vs Capulets
  • Hamlet – Swords & Skulls

If you can’t see the play you’d like us to workshop, or if there are any themes you’d like us to focus on, just let us know and we will happily tailor-make a workshop that’s right for you!
